Can you make a refreshing bathroom spray from essential oils? Yes, and it’s easy to get started.
Here is a custom essential oil bathroom spray recipe that you can personalize with your favorite scent.
Essential Oil Bathroom Spray Supplies
Making your own DIY essential oils bathroom spray is very simple. You can get started with just 4 main ingredients.
Here are the supplies you will need:
2-ounce Dark glass spray bottle
Amazon has inexpensive but pretty 2-ounce dark glass spray bottles in amber or cobalt blue. But you can also purchase them in dark brown if you prefer.
A glass bottle is essential if you’re planning to use any kind of citrus oils (which will eat through a plastic container).
And it must be a dark amber or blue to protect the structure of the oils (light can damage the cellular structure of the oils).
The alcohol or witch hazel help the oils disperse through the water, though you’ll still want to shake the bottle before using.

10-15 drops Favorite essential oils
Choose your favorite essential oils (here is my favorite brand) — any combination will do. I like using scents like Lemon, Rosemary, or Orange.
Citrus scents are a perfect choice as they add a refreshing and clean scent while disinfecting the air.

1 teaspoon Witch Hazel or Alcohol
Grab some witch hazel or alcohol, such as vodka. You can also use rubbing alcohol or even real vanilla extract. You won’t need very much as you will only be adding about 2 ounces to the spray.

2-ounces Distilled water
Distilled water is easy to come by and can be bought at your local grocery store!
Why do you want to use distilled water in your essential oils bathroom spray? Distilled water has been cleaned of any impurities to offer the best results.
This type of water has been boiled into vapor and then changed back into liquid into a separate container. This process removes impurities that are in the original water (from dirt or germs) leaving clean, purified water.

Keep the DIY essential oils
This basic essential oil bathroom spray recipe is easily customized with your favorite scent. If you find the scent isn’t strong enough or you prefer a stronger formula, you can certainly add more essential oils to the bottle.
HOW TO USE DIY essential oil bathroom spray
The only real guideline is that you must spray the bowl before you go! Spray 3-4 times into the bowl, do your business, close the toilet lid, and flush. Enjoy the fragrance of your oils because that is all you will smell.
You can also spray this bathroom spray into the air to give a refreshing and clean scent.
I’m always delighted to find a new way to use essential oils (I just like ’em so much!) and this is one that I will keep using because it really works!
