Essential oil diffuser blends are pretty much endless. With so many variations of scents and what each individual likes, there is no shortage of essential oil recipes.
Once you learn how to diffuse and have a few tried-and-true essential oil diffuser blends, you’ll be rocking those essential oils in no time.
Diffusing essential oils is the easiest way to start (and it’s also the most cost-effective ways to use them).
the basics of essential Oil Aromatherapy
Scent is an important part of self-care and having a home that’s healthy and refreshed. The best way to enjoy essential oils is through aromatherapy or simply by diffusing them.
But there are a few things to remember in order to understand the basics:
Use a Diffuser with essential oils
Using a diffuser with essential oils simple to do. Start with an easy-to-use ultrasonic diffuser.
Then, all you need to do is add some water to the diffuser, add a few drops of essential oils, plug it in, and turn it on. Within a few minutes, you’ll be enjoying the aromatherapy benefits of your oils!
And the best part is that your combination blending options are pretty much limitless.
Start Slowly with concentrated oils
While some diffusers come with instructions to dilute as much as 12 drops of oil. But when you are just getting started, that much oil is not necessary.
The most I ever diffuse at any one time is about 8-10 drops.
As a beginner, I recommend beginning with 3-4 drops. As too adding too many drops of concentrated oils at once can be too strong and can cause headaches.
More is not always better — especially in regards to essential oils!
Also, only diffuse for 30-60 minutes at a time. The diffuser doesn’t need to run all day in order for you and your home to receive the benefits of the oils.
Of course, if it’s cold and flu season then you definitely will want to run your diffuser more often, to keep any germs away!
Try Different essential diffuser blends
Be adventurous and try different essential oil diffuser recipes.
Start by choosing two oils and removing the cap of each. Hold them in one hand and move them around under your nose, inhaling the combined scents. If you like the combination try using them in a diffuser!
If the combination is not quite to your liking, try again with other scents, switching out one of the oils until you find a combination that smells nice.
You can also diffuse based on specific needs. If you want to clear odors, improve concentration, relieve tension, or eliminate airborne germs there are specific oils that will help.
Or you can just use the suggested essential oil blends I share below!
Don’t Mix essential oil Blends
An essential oil blend is made up of several essential oil combinations to form a unique scent. The recipes I offer as suggestions below are custom essential oil blends!
Many essential oil companies create their own essential oil blends, which are very useful if you don’t want to mix your own.
But if you do mix your own blends, it’s important not to mix multiple blends of oils together when you are diffusing. Stick to one blend at a time.
You could add one or two other oils to the blend, just don’t mix two different blends as it can alter the efficacy of the oils.
